Think back to a time before you knew about manifesting—what it was, what it entailed, and what you had to do to see your manifestations come to life. Have you ever wanted something, thought about it, got excited about it, and then, seconds, days, or even weeks later, it was yours? The thing you wanted was probably something you thought about often, dreamed about, and maybe even pictured life with. Whether it was a dream job, a dream person, or a dream location, the desire was clear in your mind.

I can relate to this experience. As a teenager, I dreamed of living in Australia. I was so captivated by the idea that I even chose Australia as the topic of a school project, falling in love with the country even more after presenting it to my class. At that time, I didn’t know anything about manifesting or the law of assumption—I just knew I loved the Janoskians, the beaches, and surfing, and I wanted to be there.

Fast forward to the end of high school, when I received a full scholarship to university. This was a blessing in itself and, in hindsight, a manifestation come true. Growing up in a single-parent household, I wanted to attend college without burdening my mom financially. A few years into my undergraduate degree, my scholarship program announced that we could study abroad using the scholarship money. I was thrilled and knew exactly where I wanted to go. With $0 out of my own pocket, I was able to study abroad for a full semester in Australia. It felt like a dream come true—a manifestation that materialized in a way I could never have imagined.

But the story doesn’t end there. A year later, I returned to Australia on a working holiday visa, where I worked fun, odd jobs, traveled the East and South Coast, and made amazing friends and memories that will last a lifetime. This manifestation showed itself not once but twice in ways that exceeded my expectations. And all this happened long before I knew anything about manifesting.

Reflecting on these experiences, I realized something: You have been manifesting your whole life. Think about it—what have you dreamed of since you were little that you now have? Did you ever put pictures on your wall or set a screensaver of something you wanted when you were younger, and now those things are part of your life? Take a moment to think of at least three things you’ve always wanted that you’ve received, no matter how much time has passed between the desire and the manifestation.

Hopefully, you’ve thought of a few things by now, and you’re beginning to see my point. You’ve been manifesting since the beginning of time, even when you didn’t intentionally focus on it. There are countless techniques out there—like the 369 method, subliminals, or visualization—all of which can be useful tools to help you manifest. But don’t forget where the true power comes from: it comes from you.

Before you discovered these techniques, you were already manifesting. I know I’ve fallen into the trap of working hard to manifest—repeating affirmations thousands of times a day, crafting detailed vision boards, and scouring YouTube for the best subliminals. My social media feeds are filled with posts about “manifesting like this” or “affirming like that,” all from different spiritualists. While I believe these influencers mean well, there’s often a push to make manifestation seem like a complex, multi-step process. But the truth is, manifesting is one of the easiest things you can do.

The key to manifestation is simplicity. It will manifest when you think of your desire, believe you have it, and act as if you do. If you can imagine it in the 4D, it will appear in the 3D. Once you’ve identified your desire, that’s where persistence comes in—continuing to live as though you have it, persist in your thoughts, and you’ll see your desire manifest in reality. Many sources will tell you to persist by repeating affirmations 10,000 times daily or meditating for hours on your manifestation. While this can work, the same results can be achieved by simply believing and acting like you already have your manifestation.

I’m not against using techniques, but I want to highlight that solely relying on them can 1) take away your power and 2) unintentionally reinforce the idea that you don’t have your desire yet. Again, I’m not saying you shouldn’t use techniques, but I don’t want you to get caught up in wondering what you’re doing wrong if your manifestations haven’t shown up in the 3D. In fact, if you already believed you had your manifestation, you wouldn’t be searching for it.

Here’s what this looks like in my life:

Before purchasing big items, I express gratitude for my endless supply of money and for the universe’s constant efforts to ensure my financial abundance.

I’m currently waiting for the positive results of a skills assessment for a visa. To live as if I already have it, I tell people I’m moving to another country next year. I act as though I’m simply waiting for the visa process to finalize since I already know my skills assessment is approved.

I’m also manifesting better vision. Anytime I spend a day without my glasses, I show gratitude for having 20/20 vision, whether I’m wearing them or not.

You might notice that these examples involve affirmations, and that’s true. I still affirm throughout the day, but I no longer sit and repeat the same affirmation over and over. I realized that I’m too powerful for that to be the only way to receive my desires. It’s only a matter of time before they manifest.

One thing all manifestation techniques agree on—and I do, too—is not to worry about when your desires will show up. Don’t focus on timing or the “how.” You already have your manifestation, so what exactly are you waiting for?

Start living your life as if you have your manifestations today. Live calmly, happily, and gratefully, knowing that you’re powerful enough to get everything you want. Because you are. You get everything you want, and that’s it!
